Sailing Conditions

Treasure Island Sailing Center is located in a protected cove with flat water and limited current. While the water is sheltered, the winds are not, and the cove experiences similar wind speeds as areas to the north and west of the Island. Winds regularly exceed 20 knots in the afternoon this time of year. The most probable conditions are to have a sea-breeze westerly filling between 10am and 1pm with winds building to 15-20knts in the late afternoon and then tapering off again after the sun sets.

Expected Weather

May and June in the Bay Area are usually sunny with high temperatures in the mid 60s F and lows in the low 50s F. The water temperature will be ~55 F. The combination of wind and low water temperature can be quite cold so please plan to dress accordingly. Wet suits and dry suits may be appropriate.
